Israeli forces stormed, overnight Saturday, through Sunday evening, several areas in the occupied West Bank, and abducted eight Palestinian young men, including former prisoners, local sources reported.
Israeli forces invaded, after midnight Saturday, Rummanah village, northwest of Jenin, in the northern West Bank, sparking protests among the local Palestinian youths.
Soldiers fired live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters at those who resisted the incursion, injuring one young man with shrapnel.
Soldiers invaded and ransacked the family home of Kamal Abu Bakr, 22, who was shot dead, on Saturday, by an Israeli security guard in Tel Aviv, Israel, in an alleged shooting attack.
The family home was measured by the army, in preparation for a punitive demolition, which constitutes collective punishment under International Humanitarian Law.
Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states;
“International humanitarian law prohibits collective punishment of prisoners of war or other protected persons for acts committed by individuals during an armed conflict.” – International Committee of the Red Cross
“The imposition of collective punishment is a war crime.” – International Committee of the Red Cross
It was added that a Palestinian threw an “explosive device” at the invading army, no injuries were reported among the soldiers.
Sources reported that the army invaded and searched the homes of two former prisoners, Majdi Abdullah Sobeihat and Muhammad Faraj Sobeihat, before abducting them.
On Sunday evening, occupation forces abducted Rashid Muhammad Darwish, from al-‘Isawiya neighborhood in the occupied city of East Jerusalem, according to the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
Earlier Sunday, Israeli troops stormed the homes of Abdel-Al Samir Shweiki and Ahmed Salman Shweiki, in Silwan town, in occupied East Jerusalem, after storming and searching their homes.
Meanwhile, the army stormed the home of Nour Ziyad al-Qawasmi, in occupied Jerusalem, before abducting him.
Furthermore, in the southern part of the West Bank, Israeli occupation forces stormed several Palestinian civilian homes in the Hebron governorate, and abducted two young men, including a former prisoner.
In Khallet Al-Dar, south of the city, soldiers abducted Khader Shadeed Al-Awiwi, and former prisoner Bilal Omran Abu Hussein, after raiding and searching their homes.
